無題ドキュメント

This is the traditional Japanese Kintsugi technique for repairing broken items. Originally, it developed from the Japanese mindset of cherishing and using things for a long time, but in modern times, it has also gained an artistic aspect, with collectors appreciating its value.

Aesthetic Value and Uniqueness :
Kintsugi does not hide the broken parts but rather emphasizes them, creating a new kind of beauty. The cracks repaired with gold or silver give the pottery a unique character, making it appreciated as a work of art.

Philosophical Significance :
Kintsugi is rooted in the spirit of "wabi-sabi," a philosophy that finds beauty in brokenness and imperfection. This idea, particularly abroad, resonates with those who value the "beauty of imperfection" and is seen as a symbol of emotional richness.

Sustainability :
The concept of Kintsugi, which involves repairing broken items and reusing them, aligns with modern trends that emphasize environmental issues and sustainable living. As part of the repair culture, it promotes reducing waste and valuing what we have, gaining widespread support.

Symbolism of Healing :
Kintsugi is seen not just as physical repair but also as a metaphor for emotional healing. It represents overcoming challenges and emerging stronger, symbolizing personal or community growth.

Kintsugi products are all one-of-a-kind pieces, and as they are purchased by customers daily, we do not offer them for sale online. Many of the items in the photos below are already sold out. Please refer to them as examples of Kintsugi works.

Natural lacquer is used as an adhesive to bond broken ceramics. It requires about a month of drying time for complete fixation, after which the seams are decorated with gold.

Kintsugi is originally a traditional Japanese technique used to repair cherished items that have been broken. Because of its nature, Kintsugi pieces are not commonly sold in stores. However, at our shop, we collect broken pottery and use them to create Kintsugi pieces for sale.

We follow the traditional Kintsugi method faithfully. Broken parts are joined using natural lacquer, and the seams are decorated with genuine gold. Since natural lacquer takes over a month to fully cure, each piece requires about two months to complete.

We receive new Kintsugi items approximately once every two months, with around 20 unique pieces each time. Because each item is one-of-a-kind, we do not sell them online. They often sell quickly after arrival, so availability depends on timing.

Prices vary based on the complexity and difficulty of the repair, as well as the value of the original item. Most of our Kintsugi pieces are priced between ¥10,000 and ¥30,000. If you're interested, we warmly invite you to visit our store.
