-----------------------
This is a work by Kinsai Fujii, one of the leading artists in the world of Arita ware. This striking vase depicts a majestic dragon soaring through the sky. Traditionally associated with prosperity, wisdom, courage, and many other auspicious qualities, the dragon gives this compact piece a powerful and commanding presence despite its relatively small size.

The dragon is one of the most important symbols in Asian culture. Particularly in China and Japan, dragons have long been revered as sacred and powerful beings with a wide range of symbolic meanings. Above all, the dragon is associated with prosperity and good fortune. In Chinese culture in particular, dragons have traditionally been believed to bring wealth and success, and objects decorated with dragons have long been cherished as auspicious symbols. The dragon is also associated with wisdom and knowledge. In Chinese legends, dragons are often portrayed as wise beings possessing profound knowledge and are respected as sources of wisdom. At the same time, the dragon represents courage and boldness. Its strength to confront difficulties and overcome adversity has made it an enduring symbol of determination and bravery.

From a technical perspective, the dragon is boldly yet elegantly depicted in brilliant gold and platinum decoration against a deep black background created with "Tetsuyu," or iron glaze. The contrast between the dark glaze and the luminous metallic decoration gives the dragon a dramatic presence and emphasizes its powerful movement across the surface.

At 17.7 cm in height, this compact vase fits beautifully into contemporary living spaces while retaining a strong artistic presence. Its auspicious dragon motif also makes it an excellent choice as a special gift.

From wheel throwing and intricate painting to the final firing, this piece brings together the finest ceramic techniques in a single work and represents an outstanding example of Kinsai Fujii's artistry.
