This is a work by Kinsai Fujii, one of the leading artists in the world of Arita ware.
The beautiful contrast between cherry blossoms, one of Japan's most iconic flowers, and radiant gold gives this vase an exceptional presence. Delicately painted cherry blossoms harmonize with the distinctive golden surface, creating a composition that is both refined and striking. The piece combines two traditional Arita ware painting techniques: "Sometsuke" underglaze painting and "Nishiki" overglaze enameling.
Sometsuke is a technique in which designs are painted directly onto the bisque-fired porcelain body before glazing. Nishiki, by contrast, is an overglaze technique in which vivid colors such as red and green are added after the porcelain has already been glazed and fired. Each technique presents its own challenges, and combining the two requires an exceptionally high level of technical skill, as well as a sophisticated sense of composition to bring the entire design together.

Kinsai Fujii's works are characterized by their luxurious f inish us ing the overglaze enamel (nishiki) technique. He utilize metallic hues such as gold and plat inum, as well as traditional Arita nishiki colors like red, green, and purple, showcas ing strong individuality in their creations

Kinsai Fujii's career is as follows :

Born in 1976 in Arita, Saga Prefecture, Japan.
Entered the wheel-throw ing department at Saga Prefectural Arita Ceramic Technical School in 1991.
Studied under Liv ing National Treasures Manji inoue and Shigemasu Kajiwara in 1991.
Held the "Kinsai Fujii Exhibition" at Fukuoka Prefectural Museum of Art and Hita City Museum of Art in 2003.
Held the "Kinsai Fujii Exhibition" at Ehime Prefectural Museum of Art Branch in 2004.
Held numerous solo exhibitions at department stores and other venues nationwide s ince 1999.
